When looking at the word uncertain, I have to ponder on the meaning of the word. The following are two definitions of the word, “uncertainty.”
1. Fact of being uncertain: the quality or state of being uncertain.
2. Unpredictable thing: something that nobody can predict or guarantee.
Now this day and time that we find ourselves in is unprecedented by any other event I have witnessed in all my life. The Corona-Virus has caused a global upset, I guess the only comparison would have been several decades ago when we had small pox, polio, measles, and the like. Over the years we developed vaccinations to prevent these infections. There are some bible verses that come to mind when I think on these recent events.
Matthew 24: 7-8. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Looking at the above verses we see that we are in fact having wars, and rumors of wars, meaning “if you don’t stop what you are doing we will make you with force if necessary.” This is a rumor. Famines, and pestilences; millions of people die, or have died from draught, and famines. Some don’t even have fresh water to drink. These are things that have, and are happening during my live time, this generation. In the end of the verse it says this is the beginning of sorrows, this means birth pains. As the labor pains become more intense, and more frequent, we then know that the baby’s birth is near.
Matthew 24: 29-30. Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
All these signs are leading us to the tribulation period. Just look at the upset of the world, this virus is running rampant, no one has an answer, oh, let’s just wait it out, close all the restaurants, stores, sporting places, and all the others where people may go, sit back, and watch life’s savings and investments fall away. People out of work, work places closing, the world’s economies destroyed, so now if a person came on the scene, and had the fix for all this, someone that could rule the world, and make life good for everyone, do you think people would accept him or her, absolutely they would, the bible calls this person the “Anti-Christ.”
Matthew 24: 37-39. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
People will be in denial about the coming of Jesus. They will not believe. When Jesus does come, when the tribulation arrives, people, unbelievers, will blame God for their misery, and suffering. And what will they accomplish by shaking their fist in the face of God, blaming Him for their pain, they will accomplish nothing. God gave them a plan for redemption and salvation, but they would not accept it, they sentenced themselves. Their judgment is at hand.
Matthew 24: 34-35. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
Biblically, what is meant by, “My Generation, or This Generation?” The time stamp of my generation or this generation, is the return of Israel to her promise land, and becoming a nation once again. The generation from 1948-?? Is that generation that will not pass away before they see Jesus coming in the clouds? As I have said many times in the past, Ezekiel 38-39 tells the story of the battle against Israel from Russia, and her Muslim allies. Somewhere around this time frame the Rapture will take place, Jesus will come for the Church, His Church. The tribulation will start and within 7 years or so, the world as we know it will end, Christ will set up the Millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem. It has been said, that the Church will never know who the Anti-Christ is, because, they will be with Jesus beforehand. These are troubling times for folks, especially the unbeliever, yet exciting times for the believers, because Jesus is coming for them.
Revelation 22: 20-21
I Am Coming Quickly He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
