Today’s scripture(s) verse:
Hebrews 10: 23-25
Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. And let us watch out for one another to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
Many of us are loyal to our notions of Jesus, but how many of us are loyal to Him? Loyalty to Jesus means I have to step out where I don’t see anything; loyalty to my notions means that I clear the ground first by my intelligence. Faith is not intelligent understanding, faith is deliberate commitment to a Person (Jesus) where I see no way. Do we debate whether to take a step in faith by trusting in Jesus, or do we wait until we can see how to do the thing ourselves? We must obey Jesus with glad and exceeding joy. When He says something and you begin to debate, it is because you have a conception of His honour that is not His honour. Are we loyal to Jesus or loyal to our desire of him? Are we loyal to what He says, or are we trying to compromise with ideas that never came from Him? Remember, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
