Bible reading today:
Jeremiah 51, Psalm 89: 38-52, Proverbs 13, 1 Thessalonians 1-3.
Today’s scripture verse:
Psalm 62: 5-8 Rest in God alone, my soul, for my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my stronghold; I will not be shaken. My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before him. God is our refuge. Selah
We, as Christians, can achieve a victorious life through living in total dependency on God. We usually associate our success in life when we venture through it without falling or stumbling or making mistakes. However, those who are successful in their own strength tend to venture away from God and lean on their own understanding and strength. The life of depending on God’s strength is not always easy. Our lives are full of problems, failures, weaknesses and neediness, but through our weakness and problems God’s strength and faithfulness is provided and accomplished by relying on Him. Now, true dependency on God, is not simply asking Him to bless whatever we have decided to do, but instead, coming to Him with open and teachable heart and mind, asking Him to fill us with His desires and wishes instead of our own. God can fill us with a dream, that to us, seems too far to reach, but we know, that through Him it is achievable, but not by our own strength. So begins our journey of relying on God through faith, we take one step at a time depending on Him for all our needs. The path of depending on Him is not always a path of success but instead it will be full of multiple failures, yet, each failure leads to an infusion of spiritual growth nourished by our increased reliance on Him, our Heavenly Father. Let us enjoy the blessings of living a life of victory by, depending on God, and putting all things into His hands, forever trusting Him with everything. Amen.
